Recognizing the talent and skills of many Hong Kong students and graduates, Canada believes they will be vital assets to boost the economy and contribute to the workforce. On June 8, 2021, the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) announced a temporary immigration policy that provides a pathway to permanent residence of Canada for eligible applicants and their families.

These new pathway criteria include.

  • Minimum language and education levels (CLB5).
  • Valid Passport issued by HKSAR or United Kingdom.
  • In the last three years, completed the degree or diploma at least two years in length from a Canadian post-secondary designated learning institution.
  • Postgraduate diploma, certificate, or credentials that are at least one year in length from a Canadian post-secondary designated learning institution (post-secondary degree or diploma have been completed as a prerequisite for acceptance to the program and has to be no more than five years before commencing the above qualifying one – year credential).
